Asked the following question:
';Unbelievable
As Richie Benaud said at the time, Ponting's response was unbelievable and for the simple reason that if you live by the sword, you should expect to die by the sword.
At the end of Australia's innings, Sharma, the 19-year-old pacer who was denied Symonds' wicket at a crucial stage of the game, the young man who thought he had put India in a strong position, went up and shook Symonds' hand, and for a long time I sat before the television wondering why.
Was it because the batsman had batted well, had played some glorious strokes and had enjoyed himself, not only after the umpire had made a mistake and had given him another chance, but also after he had cheated and had won a second innings when he should only have had one?
I am still wondering why, and the more I wonder, the more I remember champions of the game like Rohan Kanhai and Brian Lara - batsmen of integrity who scored many runs who used to walk, and who, in doing so, protected the image of the game they loved.';
Do you agree with him ? Are Indians the only ones that hold this view? Or is West Indies, Pakistan and Sri Lanka a part of India? (L0LL:))
What does it say about Ishant Sharma's character?

its good and good sports man spiriteTony Becca from West Indies had asked: Why did Ishant Sharma shake Symonds hand after the Sydney match?
it's sportsmanship
Obviously he is a better sport then either you or Becca. That is what the spirit of the game is all about.
BECAUSE HE IS ( LOSER to symonds
You know, I remember not too long ago when Gilly walked a couple of times and he got bagged for doing so! I believe the umpires decision is sacrosanct and if players are going to make their own decisions regarding wickets, they may as well just sit the men in white a the bar! The will be (and I am sure there has been) times where Andrew Symonds has been given out when he in fact wasn't. So, it all comes out in the wash really! Is an incorrect umpiring decision classed as the batsman cheating? How did Symonds cheat? If you appeal for a wicket that you know is not out in the hope that the umpire puts up his finger would you expect the bowler to say, wait a minute, didn't mean to appeal, come on back mr batsman.
As for Sharma, yes it shows that he is a good sportsman. (I remember when I first saw this kid bowl here in Australia and I thought to myself '; This kid must be the son of someone important as he obviously hasn't earned his spot in this team';. Boy, he has proved me wrong! I really like this kid and I hope to be watching him for a long time to come) But don't all the players shake hands with the opposing team at the end of an innings and match?
